Hi David. I strongly agree with your argument and broader discussion of TikTok’s negative effects on American youth. Though I am biased as a fellow non-user of TikTok, I truly
cannot see this being a bad thing. I can only hope that, come Election Day, people will not punish Joe Biden because they are avid users and don’t understand the greater significance of a ban.
Thanks for your two cents. At the end of the day, I think you have good reason for hope. As I believe others have reported, the Tik-Tok ban (if a ban even happened, vs. a forced resale to an American company) would not even be enforced until after the election. Given everything else that is going on, I would imagine that people will largely forget about this issue until that point.
The other part of it is what the courts do. Would they strike down a national ban, like they did late last year with Montana's state ban? Either way, this is going to be entangled in the legal system for a while. And I wonder whether the courts would let people continue to use the app until all of the legal challenges are over.

Hey Dec,
Thanks for your two cents. At the end of the day, I think you have good reason for hope. Best,
Dave.
